Blog Post: From Handful of Collars to Handcrafted Legacy
Before 2020, Kimberland Collars was quiet.
A simple website.
A small Facebook page.
Three collars: the Ultra, Original, and Duro Micro Prongs.
No storefront. No automation. No noise.
Just a deep belief in making honest, effective training tools for dogs who needed them.
Then the world slowed down.
As the pandemic reshaped daily life, dog owners found themselves spending more time at home—and paying closer attention. Training mattered. Equipment mattered. And demand for quality collars grew faster than we ever expected.
So we evolved.
Not by cutting corners—but by building deeper.
We introduced center plates for better balance and function.
We launched the 2.25mm prong for stronger dogs.
We added buckle options to make training more accessible.
And we moved to Shopify so we could connect directly with our customers.
That was the turning point.
We didn’t just expand.
We rebuilt.
Every collar now follows a documented, repeatable process—twelve deliberate steps from the first bend of wire to final packaging. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is outsourced.
Instead, we train.
Veterans and local craftsmen joined our workshop, learning the process with pride, precision, and care. Every collar is still made by hand. Every piece is inspected. Every order is personal.
Kimberland Collars started small—but today it stands as a true American-made brand, built by real people and trusted by trainers and dog owners across the country.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
We’re just getting started.
Warmly,
Rachelle
