The Story of Kimberland Collars
A Letter from the Founder
When people first discover Kimberland Collars, they often ask the same question:
Why go to all this trouble for a collar?
The answer is simple.
Because small dogs deserve equipment designed specifically for them—not scaled-down versions of tools made for larger breeds.
Kimberland Collars exists because decades ago, a trainer couldn’t find a prong collar small enough to communicate clearly and safely with her dogs. Her husband, a machinist, built one by hand. That collar worked so well that professionals quietly began asking for more.
What started as a personal solution became a legacy.
When we took stewardship of this company, we made a conscious decision not to modernize what didn’t need fixing. We kept the original tooling. We kept the hand-assembly process. We kept the standards that had earned trust for generations.
Not because it’s nostalgic—but because it works.
Every Kimberland collar is still made slowly, inspected carefully, and built with the understanding that millimeters matter. These collars aren’t about force or control. They’re about clarity, timing, and respectful communication between dog and handler.
If you’re here, chances are you care deeply about doing things the right way—even when it takes longer.
So do we.
Thank you for trusting us with your dog.
